THE AVELORNA STANDARD
The Seal You Can Trust.
“Avelorna” isn’t a badge we hand out. It’s a checklist we personally go through on-site — with dated proof. Ten criteria. Every home meets all ten, or it doesn’t make the list. That’s how simple the rule is, and that’s how strictly we stick to it.
“If a home carries the seal, it means one thing: we’d live there ourselves for several months. If not, it doesn’t make the list.”
Real Internet Speed
We run a speed test on-site, during working hours — not at night when nobody’s using the network. A dated screenshot with the measured values is on file for the property. Upload speed and latency matter more to us than the advertised download number, because that’s what a video call actually depends on.
A Place to Work
What you can expect: a table and comfortable chairs you can actually work at. We sit down ourselves before we confirm it.
A Bed for Months
Not a pull-out couch for a long weekend, but a real bed with a proper mattress. As a rule, we’ve slept on it ourselves.
Central Location
Supermarket, corner shop, everything you need for the day — all within walking distance. And if you don’t want to carry it yourself, you can get it delivered. We’ve walked those routes ourselves — and had things delivered too.
Long-Term Welcome
Our homes are set up for three to six months — at a fair monthly rate, not a tourist’s daily rate. Price and duration are fixed before a home ever makes the list.
A Contact Who Actually Responds
If something’s not working, you get a response within 24 hours — in English or German. For our own properties, that’s us; for our partners’ properties, we’ve experienced it ourselves firsthand. Otherwise, no seal — no matter how beautiful the place is.
A Kitchen for Everyday Life
Fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, enough dishes and pots. Enough to really cook over months — not just to make coffee.
In-Home Washing Machine
Your own washing machine, usable every day. No shared basement, no laundromat trips across town.
Everyday Life, Not Tourism
A neighborhood where locals live year-round — not just seasonal visitors. Some places get quieter in winter, but the market, pharmacy, and everyday shops stay open. That’s exactly the difference from a stage-set town.
Stays Online
Where the power grid is unreliable, there’s backup power or tested alternatives — so an outage never costs you a workday.
